PURPOSE OF ROLE
The Packaging Team Leader will lead and motivate a shift team to achieve world-class performance in safety, quality, service, cost, and morale. This role ensures compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, while driving continuous improvement and change within a complex operational environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safety: Create and maintain a safe working environment, ensuring all equipment is operated according to health and safety standards.
- Quality: Deliver products that meet Diageo’s internal and external quality specifications.
- Hygiene & Food Safety: Ensure quality and food safety standards are embedded in daily operations.
- Production Planning: Control the production area to ensure on-time and in-full delivery according to schedule.
- Waste Reduction: Reduce operational waste to meet or exceed cost targets.
- Autonomous Maintenance: Drive autonomous maintenance within the packaging line.
- Human Resource Management: Coach and train operators, ensuring they understand processes and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Asset Care: Plan and execute the asset care agenda during shifts.
- Problem Solving: Use RCPS tools (Root Cause Problem Solving) and escalate issues appropriately for timely resolution.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Production Management, or a related field.
- Diploma in Engineering, Food Science, Chemistry, or Biochemistry is highly preferable.
- IBD Diploma in Packaging or Brewing is a plus.
- Proven experience in leading teams within a packaging or manufacturing environment.
